...........It's not a line by line refutation, but there's LOTS to address-President Jr's comments in blue

In this new century, freedom is once again assaulted by enemies, determined to roll back generations of democratic progress. Once again, we're responding to a global campaign of fear with a global campaign of freedom. And once again, we will see freedom's victory.

In the US, our freedoms are indeed under assault, but the biggest threat towards yanking away long-standing, and hard-won, rights comes from our own Federal Government, specifically the cabal that's surrounded itself around the President, an insider group that's pushed the US into a disastrous and unneeded invasion that's cost an enormous amount of lives, blood and money while destablizing the very society President Jr claimed to "liberate", and encouraged the President to ignore New Orleans after Katrina came ashore

There will be no clear-cut US "victory" in Iraq, not now, not ever-All the stated and vehemently argued justifications used pre-invasion were nothing but exposed fairy tales in the post invasion era

We still remember a proud city covered in smoke and ashes, a fire across the Potomac, and passengers who spent their final moments on Earth fighting the enemy. We still remember the men who rejoice in every death, and Americans in uniform rising to duty. And we remember the calling that came to us on that day and continues to this hour.

We will confront this mortal danger to all humanity. We will not tire or rest until the war on terror is won.

And there it is, the only option left to play, trying to tie his current day woes to his past day glories, as President Jr sees his insanely naive view of himself, and his very character, being torn asunder by the numerous brutal realities he's helped bring about in the guise of "Leader", or "War President", as W's occasionally-and vehemently-referred to himself in interviews

That treasured icon, of W as Conquering, compassionate and kindly representative of all that's right & good, gave way after September 11, to that of leader grimly determined to punish evil in the name of Faith & Freedom, perhaps sparing a fleeting thought for innocents killed directly by his orders, but most likely not

Sympathy for dead and injured innocents, a luxury best done without for the Leader as Avenging Angel Of Wrathful Righteousness, one whose ascendency will usher in a new glorious time of renewal, and whose prime achievement is the striking down of his Creator's antagonists

And then, Katrina hit

And the Warrior President who avoided combat duty via a golden last name, was shown instead as a cravenly, arrogant office Supervisor, one who stayed on a self-laudatory traveling vacation, while the poor suffered dehydration, hunger, scorching heat and all manners of appalling deaths

While bodies floated in the streets, the Warrior President froze when the situation called for an immediate and strong response, instead resembling nothing more than a pathetic & eventually broken King Lear, a quality that has forever stained the rest of his Presidency and his own psyche deep to the core

Some call this evil Islamic radicalism. Others militant jihadism.

Still, others Islamo-fascism.

Whatever it's called, this ideology is very different from the religion of Islam. This form of radicalism exploits Islam to serve a violent political vision: the establishment, by terrorism and subversion and insurgency, of a totalitarian empire that denies all political and religious freedom.

These extremists distort the idea of jihad into a call for terrorist murder against Christians and Jews and Hindus and also against Muslims from other traditions that they regard as heretics. Many militants are part of global borderless terrorist organizations like Al Qaida, which spreads propaganda and provides financing and technical assistance to local extremists and conducts dramatic and brutal operations like September 11th.

Actually stating the above makes the President's complete and total pandering to the worst kinds of theological bullies a hypocrisy far too glaring to be ignored, both at home and abroad, and far too easy-but properly so-to mock, insult and ridicule

First, these extremists want to end American and Western influence in the broader Middle East, because we stand for democracy and peace and stand in the way of their ambitions.

"Democracy & Peace"?

Would the friends & families of ALL those Iraqis wrongly killed by the US, ALL those Iraqis wrongly detained and interrogated under US control in locations already infamous during the former regime, would THEY agree with that description of "standing for democracy & peace"?

And, logically, why should they?

Part II in just a bit
